More and more people coming to stay with us are bringing their clubs in ardent anticipation of an unforgettable round of golf on some of the best golf courses in the country, six of which are within very easy reach of Launceston Farm. I have asked Roy, one of the most experienced golfers in Dorset, for his recommendations:
Ferndown Golf Club. In my opinion, the best golf course in Dorset. The best greens in Dorset without doubt. A classic & historical heathland course.
Remedy Oak A stunning golf course just five miles from the Farm. Secluded, quiet and surrounded by woodlands. Plays long with challenging and unique holes.
Broadstone Golf Club. A heathland course like Ferndown, but plays longer and more arguably more challenging.
Parkstone Golf Couse Another heathland course in the heart of Poole. Great course and very close to Sandbanks, if you fancy a post game lunch at Rick Stein’s new restaurant or a ferry trip over to the Purbecks or Brown Sea Island.
Isle Of Purbeck Golf Course An elevated coastal course with spectacular views over Poole Harbour.
Bramshaw Golf Club Not technically in Dorset but certainly not far away. Based in the New Forest, there will be New Forest ponies and other animals grazing on the fairways!
