It could be our last chance to soak up some Olympic atmosphere so we are heading down to Weymouth tomorrow for some Olympic sailing action. Bolstered by reports of no traffic congestion, festival atmosphere, empty beaches and the promise of SUNSHINE for the next few days, we are psyched. It’s 20 miles from Launceston Farm to Dorchester where you can catch the free Park & Ride bus to the heart of the Olympic Nothe site in Weymouth. Easy.
The Dorset For You website is packed with information and advice for visitors and the timetable of events for the remaining few days, whilst the Olympic Sailing 2012 blog answers just about every FAQ you could dream up about the event. If you really are interested in watching the sailing, the best tickets in the spectators area sold out a long time ago. However, there are some excellent vantage points along the South West Coast Path from where you can set up your picnic and get great views of the action – don’t forget your binoculars.
Amazingly, we still have availability for Thursday night so get your sailing gear on and get down here.
